Aquí estoy …
In this space to share ‘bella‘ (be-ya) musings which are inspired by my passions: Jesucristo, travel, and photography.
I embark on this journey by sharing something that is sacred and close to my heart, a piece of my soul so to say.
The past couple of months were gut-wrenching yet humbling all at once. La familia was struck with a devastating blow. We received the dreaded news that my nephew had passed away tragically. On Sabbath eve, his precious life came to an abrupt end in a car that collided with an olive tree, the last one along a long road of ushering olive trees. God called mi sobrino home. He was often referred to as “The Boy with the Hebrew Tat” which read יְהוָ֖ה יִלָּחֵ֣ם תַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃ / “The Lord will fight for you, you need only be still“. A verse found in the Scriptures viz. Exodus 14:14. He left an indelible impression on the hearts of many who he had touched during his time on earth.
When we lose a loved one, we mourn but we mourn knowing that our mourning will be turned into joy and comfort at the final day – the day of resurrection. I take deep comfort in this truth found in Matthew 5:4, one of the oracles declared by Jesus in his sermon on the Mount. His words are sweet to the soul. There are no forevers in this life, only in its beyond.
Tragedies draws us to the stark reality of this life, its brevity and fragility. The clock plays no favorites. It’s later than we think and another day is not promised. Are we intentional with the time that has been freely granted to us? “We all have an equal measure of time in every day. Where we differ from one another is in how we redeem the time allotted” – Ligonier.
The future is unknown. I’m not sure how “Bella Musing” will evolve from here but I do know that in ‘bella musing’ i.e. thinking beautiful thoughts we will find ourselves on a path of hope, joy and peace. To think beautifully, one must think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable – things that are excellent and praiseworthy . It is like singing sweet melodies, quietly to the heart.
I hope that sharing my journey of combining passions will pour visual and verbal sunshine into your soul.
Thanks for being here.
