Beauty for ashes

He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. – Isaiah 61:3

Beauty for ashes

In this world, we will encounter pain, loss and suffering. Not one person is exempt from trials and tribulations. As for me, adversity and suffering revealed itself to me at a tender age but so did El Elyon, The Most High God. His goodness and love reigned and still reigns supreme. The tragic loss of my nephew introduced yet another, new kind of unspeakable pain and grief into my life and that of my family. As believers, we know that our parting is not final and that our beloved is resting until we meet again. The hope that Christ gave us goes beyond the grave. It gives us blessed assurance that on the glorious day of His return, we will be reunited with Him and our loved ones.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. – 1 Thessalonians 4:13

The hope of eternity will bring huge comfort to a believing heart. We all need hope! We need Jesus Christ! With Him, we can bear our cross. However, without true surrender followed by a renewal of heart, our trials and tribulations actually become constant strife and horrid unrest. There’s a difference between the two; His burden is light. For me, life without God is unimaginable.

My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. – 2 Corinthians 12: 9

grief to hope, Jesus
The Cross is our hope. Jesus is hope.

In our darkest hours, it is God who holds us with His arms so that we do not stumble. We do not focus on our pain but rather on the true promises in Jesus. He is faithful! He is hope! One day, our spirits will soar up into the heavens to meet Him in the clouds; to a renewed world sans pain, grief, suffering and death.

What a beautiful thought!

Peace be with you,

Natalie
